2026 BMW X4 Interior, Engine, Pictures  –  There has to be an emotional investment for someone to buy a six-figure car. Spending so much on a vehicle is unnecessary for most people, but there are many good reasons to treat yourself to something truly spectacular. Perhaps it’s for the thrill of dazzling performance or the pleasure of opulent opulence. Perhaps it’s the (little) possibility of making money as a collector, or perhaps it’s simply a passion for beautiful automobile design. An all-weather beast with loads of innovation and luxury, the 2026 BMW X4 M Competition is ready for everything life throws at it. Exterior and Interior

You can’t call the X4 M Competition a flat-out performance. Even when steered clumsily around tight curves at high speeds (not that I approve of such behavior), it clings tenaciously to the road, demonstrating its formidable handling capabilities. The massive tires provide outstanding traction (255 mm front and 265 mm rear), and the suspension is firm enough to eliminate almost all body roll. There is a ton of stopping power at your fingertips and the brakes are lightning fast; they’re fantastic.

At 2,082 kg (4,590 lb), the X4 M Competition is the heaviest of its competitors. Its firmly planted on-road feel is partly due to its massive heft. Although it is swift and competent, the X4 M lacks the charisma and fun of the M5 and X5 M. The Alfa Stelvio twirls like a sports sedan, while the Jaguar F-Pace SVR seems to lose weight as you accelerate. Both provide a more immersive and heartfelt experience compared to the X4 M. People riding in it will be acutely aware of any bumps on the road because to the rigid suspension and low tire profile. Although it’s not overly severe, the X4 M’s construction is consistently robust and tight.

A panoramic sunroof, an excellent sound system, and heated leather seats are just a few of the luxury amenities included as standard on the X4 M. Not only does the Competition trim increase performance, but it also comes with a slew of fashionable enhancements, such the M exhaust that both looks and sounds amazing and the spokey 21-inch wheels. Several features that customers have grown to expect as standard equipment on cheaper BMWs are actually hidden in expensive option packages, which is typical of the brand. Engine and Performance

It’s hard to be practical about an SUV that blatantly sacrifices design for function, but adding a 503-horsepower engine makes it more appealing to the emotions. The new engine is shared by the X4 M and X4 M Competition, as well as by its X3 and M3/M4 relatives. There is more power than ever before from the twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine, which stays true to BMW history with its beautifully smooth flow of power. The standard X4 M comes with “only” 473 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, while the Competition trim level of my test vehicle delivers 503 horsepower (with the same amount of torque).

That’s an incredible amount of power, and although BMW says the X4 M Competition can go from zero to hundred kilometers per hour in 4.1 seconds, measuring devices used by certain American car publications have shown 0-60 mph rates in the low to mid-three second range when launch control is engaged. For a long time, rumours have been circulating that the Bavarians have been inflating their production statistics. The X4 M Competition’s highway fuel economy is a dismal 12.1 L/100 km and its city fuel economy is a pitiful 16.6 L/100 km, according to official fuel consumption statistics. Those numbers are easily surpassed by the V8-powered Jaguars and Mercedes. In actual mixed-condition driving, though, the X4 M easily maintained an average speed in the mid-12s. That doesn’t sound too far-fetched, considering the power on offer and the antics experienced throughout test week.

There are a plethora of active safety measures available on the X4 M, and with tremendous power comes great responsibility when it comes to keeping the driver and passengers safe. Unfortunately, several of these safety technologies, such as lane departure warning, active front and rear collision prevention systems, and steering and lane control, do cost extra and are only available in expensive BMW packages.

The active driving aids, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, function well in my fully loaded tester. If you’d rather not have your anxious mother-in-law scolding you every time you go near the border of your lane, BMW lets you adjust the sensitivity of certain of these functions. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the closely comparable X3 good marks, but neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the IIHS have released safety ratings for the new X4. 2026 BMW X4 Interior

2026 BMW X4 Price and Release Date

Starting at $85,300 (not including freight, fees, or taxes), BMW Canada has set a very attractive pricing for the X4 M. Even with the additional $10,000 for the X4 M Competition, it’s still somewhat less expensive than the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe and Porsche Macan Turbo. The $99,000 Stelvio Quadrifoglio and the $92,000 Jaguar F-Pace SVR are likewise divided by this.

The overall cost, including destination costs, was more than $110,000 because the amenities that most purchasers in this market are looking for necessitate some optional package add-ons.
