2026 BMW X3 M Redesign, Interior, Dimensions
2026 BMW X3 M Redesign, Interior, Dimensions – Feeling and driving more like a sports vehicle than an SUV, the 2026 BMW X3 M has amazing power statistics and reflexes like a cat. While the base X3 M gets 473 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbo inline-six engine, the M Competition trim level sees a significant increase to 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. When you press down on the pedal and distribute power to all four wheels, the quad exhaust makes a resounding noise. 2026 BMW X3 M Redesign
The X3 M’s performance and aggressive design are sure to excite drivers seeking excitement. Both the spacious luggage area and the comfortable seating arrangement are carried over from the more practical basic X3. Since the X3 M is known for its exceptionally stiff ride, a luxurious experience is definitely not what you can expect. We recommend looking at competitors like the Mercedes-AMG GLC-class and the Porsche Macan if you want a more luxurious performance SUV.
2026 BMW X3 M Redesign and Update Plan
Exterior and Interior
Similar to the standard X3, the 2026 X3 M has a redesigned interior. More standard features and a slew of special extras are enjoyed by the full-blown M version. On the other hand, you’ll see a lot of “M” badging, red buttons for the drive modes on the steering wheel, and really thick front seats. Front seats with substantially more support are available with the Competition package. The use of luxurious materials throughout the interior is a reflection of BMW’s commitment to design excellence. Equipped with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, heated front-seat cushions, 14-way power front seats, programmable ambient interior lighting, and standard leather upholstery, this crossover offers a wide range of customisable interior embellishments.
Is it still lacking in swank? More luxurious leather upholstery is available as an upgrade, along with a plethora of other high-end features like a panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, and rear window shades. There is an abundance of cargo space in addition to ample passenger space. Behind the X3’s rear seat, we were able to stow seven carry-on bags, and with the seatbacks down, we had 20. Customers who choose for the mechanically identical X4 M will have to make do with less room due to the steeply sloping rear end of that model.
2026 BMW X3 M Specs
The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard on all X3 M models and provides a plethora of control options. Not only does the screen have touch capabilities, but BMW also includes a physical volume knob on the center stack and controls on the steering wheel. On top of it, the central console has shortcut buttons around a rotary controller. A Wi-Fi hotspot, charging connections located throughout the interior, an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless system, an integrated navigation system, and a 16-speaker Harman/Kardon sound are all popular standard equipment. If you’re looking for a little more bling, the Executive package includes gesture controls and wireless charging. 2026 BMW X3 M Redesign
Engine and Performance
The 3.0 liter inline-six engine that powers this crossover is both strong and remarkably smooth. The M performance division has fine-tuned the BMW engine to produce 473 to 503 hp and 457 to 479 lb-ft of torque. Only the Competition trim level, which comes with 21-inch wheels and a standard performance exhaust system, gets the additional power. The all-wheel-drive system and eight-speed automatic gearbox are standard on all X3 M models. When necessary, the system may direct all of the engine’s power to the rear wheels. Our test 2026 X3 M Competition was incredibly nimble and incredibly fast for its class. It took 3.2 seconds to reach 60 mph, 3.1 ticks to get from 50 to 70 mph, and 11.5 seconds at 119 mph to finish the quarter mile. For reference, the BMW M3 sports car is somewhat slower than the SUV to 60 mph, hitting that mark in 3.5 seconds.
However, at the quarter-mile, the M3 manages to gain ground on the X3 M. With an astounding 0.97 g of grip, the X3 M can stop from 70 mph in 146 feet, just like that car. It also manages to circle our skidpad with ease. The X3 M’s ride is quite stiff even on the softest setting for the basic adaptive dampers, making it too hardcore for most people to enjoy on a daily basis. A reasonable amount of input is transmitted by the thick-rimmed steering wheel, and the steering never stopped us from enjoying the lower limits of its outstanding capabilities. 2026 BMW X3 M Redesign
2026 BMW X3 M Fuel Economy
Expected city/highway MPG ratings for the X3 M are 15 and 20, respectively, depending on whether you opt for the Competition option or not. Competitors like the 505-horsepower Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio have far better gas mileage (17 mpg vs. 23 mpg). In actual driving conditions, though, the Bimmer proved to be superior. The X3 M achieved 25 mpg on our 75 mph highway fuel-economy route, which is a component of our rigorous testing protocol. We found 21 mpg in the Stelvio QF as a comparison.
2026 BMW X3 M Safety Features
The small luxury crossover comes with a plethora of driver-assistance features as standard, with a few more available as options, such self-parking assist. The X3 M’s crash test results can be found on the websites of the IIHS and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Important security measures comprise:
- Both the front and back cross-traffic warning systems are standard equipment.
- Regular lane departure alert
- An adaptive cruise control system is available. 2026 BMW X3 M Redesign
2026 BMW X3 M Price and Release Date
Pricing for the 2026 BMW X3 M ranges from $73,895 (base model) to $80,895 (maximum) with a wide variety of trim levels and optional features. The Competition model is what we’re after because of its increased power and better features. As an upgrade over the base M, it comes with a gloss-black grille and mirror caps, a performance exhaust system as standard equipment, and black 21-inch wheels instead of 20s.
The upgraded interior has richer Merino leather upholstery, more supportive front seats, and distinctive “M” badging. Two of the several available packages, Executive and M Driver’s, would be our picks. A panoramic sunroof, heated seats, a head-up display, gesture controls, wireless phone charging, and self-parking assist are just a few of the many amenities offered by the former. For the latter, you may unlock a greater peak speed (177 mph instead of 155) and a day of driving instruction with a professional. 2026 BMW X3 M Redesign
