Exterior and Interior
The interior design is a nod to the 4-series convertible and coupe, with a driver-centric dashboard that shifts the temperature controls and infotainment screen slightly to the left. Compared to rival sedans like the new Mercedes-Benz C-class, the inside isn’t as eye-catching, despite being pricey and constructed of high-quality materials.
Gran Coupe rear passengers have greater legroom than those in the two-door 4-series but less headroom than those in the three-door sedan thanks to the fastback roofline. Although the exact amount of additional space in the Gran Coupe’s trunk relative to the two-door versions remains unknown, it is expected to be much larger.

Both the 12.3-inch infotainment screen and the 14.9-inch digital gauge display are standard on all variants. Equipped with in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, this vehicle has it all. The 10-speaker system is the default, but you may upgrade to the optional 16-speaker Harman/Kardon system.
Engine and Performance
Two first-rate turbocharged powertrains are available here. A 255-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-four engine is standard on the 430i. More powerful is a 3.0 liter inline-six that uses a 48-volt hybrid system and produces 382 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard on both engines, and they may be configured with either rear- or all-wheel drive. Although we haven’t had the opportunity to test the 430i Gran Coupe, the M440i ripped through our 0–60 mph timer in 3.9 seconds. While the fast handling is great fun on twisty routes, big potholes could make the suspension seem stiff.

Fuel economy for the 430i is projected by the EPA to be 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. While we don’t yet have 2026 EPA ratings for the more powerful M440i, we may assume that the same 24/32 city/highway ratings from the 2023 model will carry over.
